The Crash at the Bottom of the Stairs

Wayne and I were out running around trying to accomplish everything we needed to do before Derek, Mom, Richard and Rose showed up in Springville. This was moving van day for Derek and Rose. We were supposed to help them move into there new place once they got here. We had been out all day and listened to the BYU vs Washington on the radio as we did what we needed too. We just came home from much need resupplying of dinners from Walmart and there was 5 minutes left of the game. We sat down and watch Washington start driving down the field. Wayne was upset after they scored so he left to go outside to get the rest of the groceries. I follow shortly after. While he was listening to the car radio he heard the blocked kick. He went booking it downstairs to watch the replay and I was slowly following. If you know me, I have a habit of falling down stairs and either breaking my butt or hurting other things. Which makes me go slow down stairs. So I watching Wayne from the top as he maybe hit a stair or two on his way down. The next thing I see is him laying on the ground screaming that he has broken his ankle (among other words which you don't want to know). I called my dad to see if he could come help me carry him up the stairs and they were out. I went upstairs to see if the guy upstairs was home and he was gone. So the only option Wayne had at that moment was to hop up the stairs by himself. Which I am sure was one of the most painful things ever. I was trying to follow close behind but I had to put all the groceries away. While I was hurrying to do that and call Derek to tell them we were on the way to the ER, Wayne was out in the hot car trying not to throw up. He hopped back into the house and yelled at me to hurry up. I drove him to the hospital. It took 3 hours to get him in, get x-rays and to put a boot on his leg. We have seen the Orthopedic Surgeon and he says Wayne has a high ankle sprain and a chipped bone. He has to walk on crutches for 5 weeks and then they will look at starting him walking. The only good thing about this is that he has a handicapped parking pass which makes it so we can park super close. He hate walking around UVU on crutches. It makes going to school all the harder. Here are a couple of pictures a couple days after the hurt
